Women's Fellowship

Welcome!

Welcoming newcomers and new ideas, Women’s Fellowship at Mystic Congregational Church builds camaraderie and enriches women’s lives through a wide range of activities. This active, vibrant, and committed group of dedicated women meet regularly from September to June to foster personal growth through interesting speaker programs and lively book group discussions.

Each year Women's Fellowship gives back to the community by raising charitable funds through two major events: our Elegant Tea and Holiday Bazaar, held in November, and our Tag Sale. The funds raised from these events support over 30 local, regional, and national not-for-profit organizations which provide a wide range of much-needed services. We enjoy sharing our creative and culinary talents, and especially the fellowship involved in planning these events.

Monthly Programs

Women’s Fellowship meets on the second Tuesday morning of the month from September to June. Refreshments and fellowship are followed by worship and a program, and then a business meeting. Recent programs have included a guided tour of “champion trees” in Wilcox Park; speakers from local community organizations we support such as Madonna Place, TVCCA, and the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center; and speakers from Avalonia Land Conservancy and Denison-Pequotsepos Nature Center. We have also had some very meaningful group discussions on friendship and other topics. In December we often welcome the approaching holidays with a musical program.

Elegant Tea and Holiday Bazaar

Eagerly anticipated by the Greater Mystic community, our signature afternoon tea is a beloved holiday tradition featuring delicate sandwiches and decadent cookies served on fine china. The holiday bazaar is a shopper’s paradise showcasing the talents of Women’s Fellowship. Available for purchase are baked goods, chutneys, cheese, and other food items; gift baskets and holiday decorations; handcrafted items such as scarves, mittens, jewelry, and note cards; as well as art and antiques; just to name a few categories. Year after year this event not only brings friends old and new together, but raises funds to strengthen the fabric of our local community.

Annual Tag Sale

Shopportunities abound at our annual Spring Tag Sale, sponsored by our Women’s Fellowship Group in Mystic, CT. We gratefully accept donations of gently used items and attic treasures, with all proceeds from this event benefiting local charities. Featuring books, clothing, jewelry, china, collectibles, antiques and much more, the Spring Tag Sale truly offers something for everyone. But beware, bargains go quickly!

Evening Book Group

Join us for one of our monthly evening book discussions, where we explore timely topics such as racial injustice and redemption through literature. Participants take turns recommending and selecting books for the group, and there is always lively discussion. Recent books we've read include Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson and Born a Crime by Trevor Noah; click the button below to see a full list of recent selections.
